Body Of The Dog Star

The black drape
Covers her body
Heavy
Quiet
Sleek
Never needing
The glow of bulbs
The dark
Eating
The gown
Of sunshine
In one gulp.

Like Sirius
Turning inward
Leading light into

Nothing.

The Dog Star howling.
