Giving Hands

The people come
They lay their burdens
Upon one another’s feet.

We trip over them
These knotted shoelaces of sorrow
We stumble up the walk
Pulling.

We really should
Lay our burdens in people hands
But on our knees
It’s hard to reach.

Here, I remind you
To look down at times

Look down,
Do you see me?
Crawling here, I bundle
My soiled rags at your feet
Asking softly

“Please. Won’t you
Reach down and give me
Your hands?”

  1. Let food be your medicine, Renwick Berchild. If not already plant based look into it…rebuild your immune system, dairy plays havoc with woman’s bodies…plant based diets help the body to heal….You Tube channels…Switch4Good, Physicians Committee, Plant Strong, Chef AJ, Mora Medical, Veggie Doctor TV, and Brenda Davis…all good sources of info. Hope I didn’t overstep, love your poems…wish you well, Remwick. 💙
