A Dictionary Of Magic

A Dictionary of Magic
Is in my teacup;
With lions roaring and maidens imploring,
Daffodils drifting in a sea of
Coffee cream,
Tiny ladybugs
Whizzing, flittering, sailing into
Black birds’ beaks,
Ivy
Crawling upwards
Over my face,
Blue blooms agog in my
Left eye,
Pink skies, window wipers drumming
Out the rain;

And somewhere, I see
A teeny me,
Laughing in a wildfire,
Setting all the spirits free,

Quaking the earth with my feet
And in a splash
Down into the deep
I fall in and

Wake.

Teacup in my hand.
And the wind outside,
Blowing in.
