Dark and Dust

There is a gulf
of stardust
that divides me from you.

The blackness
that consumes
moves organs and tooth

pulled from me
and hung ‘round your neck.

Blessed
you said.
A red night.

Come here
I say.
Wade through this darkness with me.

All the glowing atoms
flee as we move.

No longer divided.
Just searching.

Arms out
eyes open

yet we never meet.

Where are you?
I hear you say.

I pull a strand
of vein from me
and send it to you across the ebon lea.

Coming shortly
I say.

Wait a bit more. I’m
forming fast as I can.

Delicate
is the process

of the ocean arriving to shore.
